Her paternal grandparents were Francisco Gonzalez Marino and María del Carmen Gervasia Suarez de la Guardia Garcia; her maternal grandparents were Domingo Luis-Sejudo Diaz and Josefa Gonzalez. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Luciano Cleofé, Domingo Agapito, Antonio Antolín, Mariana, María Candelaria, Mª Candelaria and Francisca Joaquina. She was the third oldest of the eight children.
